David Kaminsky is a 17 year old prospect (at the writing of this profile January 2018) who recently signed a multi year promotional contract with Top Rank making him the 2nd youngest fighter the company has signed.
Kaminsky's amateur record is 94-8 and his accomplishments include winning gold at the 2017 U.S. Western Elite Qualifier & Regional Open Championships and bronze at 2017 U.S. Youth Open and a silver medal at the 2016 U.S. Youth Nationals.
The young fighter was born in Israel and now lives and trains in Southern California, where his father is his trainer. He came to the United States when he was 3.
Kaminsky has sparred with the likes of Shane Mosley and Viktor Postol and says of himself, "I can do every different style for every different fighter...So, if I need to be slick, I can be slick. If I need pressure, I can use pressure. If I need to move on my feet, I move on my feet. But I do have a punch. I like to hit with power,†added the young fighter."
"Only once in my career did I hear the shofar blown before a fight when Yuri fought Miguel Cotto (at Yankee Stadium in 2010) and I want to hear that again,†promoter Bob Arum said of Kaminsky.
His pro debut will be on February 3, 2018 against Rafael Munoz (1-2-1 0 KOs) at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
